Velden am Wörthersee

Thanks to a number of events and a selection of high-quality restaurants and hotels, the town enjoys a good reputation as Carinthia’s society and party venue. The Casino Velden also contributes to this with an extensive and varied calendar of events. An imposing eye catcher in the Bay of Velden is the exclusive Schlosshotel Velden, a revitalised historical 19th century building with modern architectural highlights.

Active variety is on offer by way of a number of hiking trails (such as the Wörthersee Circular Hiking Trail), cycle and mountain bike tracks, and a challenging and hilly 18-hole golf course.

Hikers enjoy the beauties and advantages of the Wörthersee Circular Hiking Trail. The 55-kilometre-long trail opens up wonderful views of Lake Wörthersee and the Karawanken Mountains.

In winter visitors are enchanted by the Velden Advent. Surrounded by an angel workshop, handicraft market, an Advent boat, living crib, floating Advent wreath and concert programme, people of all ages get in the mood for Christmas in the “city of angels”.
