Directly on the Arriach Farm Trail there is another curiosity: a candelabra spruce which branches into seven tops! It is more than 30 metres high, has a diameter of eight metres and is around 500 years old.
And it is hard to believe, but in Arriach there are cows that are living menus. At the “Neugarten Almhütte” the cows advertise buttermilk, apple strudel, cider and cold platters.
And when it comes to hiking: the Alpe-Adria-Trail, a long-distance hiking trail which leads from the Grossglockner to the Upper Adriatic, runs through Arriach.
In winter too, Arriach is worth a holiday, as the Gerlitzen Alpe ski region is just five kilometres away.
